Summer is over and it’s time to store those chinos and boat shoes away in the wardrobe and look out for winter clothing. Fashion might be constantly changing and introducing new trends to us however there are some items that never change, these items have always been at the forefront of men’s fashion for decades. Here is a list of the top 5 essential clothing items every man should have in his wardrobe for this winter!

1. Smart Blazer

You can’t go wrong with a blazer! Whether you are heading to the office or on a night out with your friends, a nice blazer makes you look instantly smart without going over the top. You can pair it up with a nice shirt and trousers if you are going for the smart look or even wear it over a t-shirt with jeans for the more casual-smart look.

2. Oxford Shirt

Again here shirts are an essential item either for work or for going out, oxford shirts in particular fall under both the smart and casual category, it all depends on how you wear it and what you pair it up with, therefore by owning an oxford shirt in your wardrobe it will always come in handy! 3. Smart Jeans

Denim is probably the most popular clothing item for men, it’s a classic! Personally I like to go for jeans that look a bit smart than the traditional denim. Jeans that are slightly coated and have that washed look generally look smarter while they’re comfier to wear at the same time as this kind of denim contains elastane which makes them stretch. A good tip is to wear them for a few days before washing them in order to maintain the shape. Zara have a great range of wet look jeans, head over to their site and check them out!

4. Man bag

A good leather man bag always comes in handy either for work when you need to take your laptop or paperwork or just going out shopping! I would advise you to go for a more premium leather bag as the cheaper ones tend to get ruined in no time and the straps go.

5. Brogues

A nice pair of brogues can be paired up with a lot of different styles, smart and casual and the good thing about them is they last for years. Also you don’t have to pay a lot to get a decent pair, I bought mine from office 5 years ago for roughly £40 and they are still going strong.
